How to Make it in DC: Navigating the DC Job Market

Posted on Posted in Events, Professional Development

The Government Affairs Industry Network (GAIN) and Brad Traverse Jobs were excited to come together on the first event in our new series focused on one mission: to help you find the right job in DC. “How to Make it in DC: Navigating the DC Job Market” series offers panels, workshops, and webinars to help you traverse the complicated landscape that is the DC government affairs job market. The first event, the “Government Affairs Resume and Career Workshop,” sponsored by The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management, brought together experienced professionals from all areas of the government affairs industry, Congress and the Administration to review resumes and offer career advice.

After the workshop, attendees stayed for a panel discussion on navigating the DC job market. Panelists, including Brad Traverse with Brad Traverse Jobs, Brent Sullivan with Time On The Hill, Carla Lochiatto with ASAE, and Mark Arnone with AskNot LLC, provided tips and insights on how to find the right jobs in government affairs, on the Hill and with a federal department or agency.  If you were unable to make this panel, you can watch it here [link to webinar].

GAIN would like to thank The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management for sponsoring this event, Brad Traverse for cohosting, and our fantastic panelists and resume reviewers.  If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry! We are planning more of these for 2018, so please stay tuned!
