The Government Affairs Industry Network (GAIN) gathered on June 29 at the American Trucking Associations to learn about issues currently and soon-to-be moving through the 115th Congress in the energy and infrastructure industries. This panel was the first event in GAIN’s ‘Hot Topics in Public Policy’ series, which facilitates discussion regarding legislative and regulatory developments by bringing together thought leaders to discuss state-of-play, insights, and intel on current affairs.
Panelists included Anthony Adragna of POLITICO, Dan Byers of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Energy Institute, and Nathan Smith of the American Traffic Safety Services Association. Kenny Ames of Red Banyan Group and GAIN Advisory Board member moderated the panel.
The discussion provided insights regarding how the current administration’s focus on infrastructure would impact the energy industry and the impact on environment and emissions. They also touched on projects and initiatives from the current administration, including changes in permitting processes and appropriations for specific sectors of the energy community.
Special thanks to our panelists, moderator, and the American Trucking Associations for making this event a success, and to our audience for showing such broad support for the event and the series.
Join our next ‘Hot Topics in Public Policy’ discussion, “The Future of Health Care Reform” on July 25th at Drinker, Biddle, & Reath LLP, with the DC Society of Heath Policy Young Professionals (SHPYP).
